I created this series specifically for Newbies because I know the challenges associated with building a webiste. If you’re new to internet marketing and perhaps cash is tight, you probably don’t want to spend $500-$1000 on a website design, especially while you’re still learning about markets, traffic generation, list-building, etc.

And if you’re like me, you’ll probably need several websites tailored to specific products or niches. I teach a simple webpage design system, that allows the user to create templated websites and make changes to the look and feel that is replicatable. It’s perfect for PLR or Adsense monetization.

So why did I create the videos? For the last 5 years I’ve been involved in professional website design in addition to my online marketing business. I meet with clients regularly who have basic needs for a website or who want to make simple changes to their website, but are reluctant to take the plunge for fear of messing up or apprehension about the learning curve. I used those conversations to shape how I approached the video series. KISS was the mantra.

Most folks aren’t interested in the technical or theoretical aspect of webpage building. What they want to know is hands-on…how can I build a site quickly and easily.

Listen, it’s not an exhaustive “everything you wanted to know about website design” kind of tutorial series, but it will teach a brand new person how to get a professional looking published to the interent in less than an hour even if they don’t know HTML…thanks to WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) technology.

Without organization, you’ll become overwhelmed, become bogged down with the details and lose focus on what’s really important…making a profit (that’s the purpose of a business by the way).

Getting organized is not as hard as you may think, even is you’re a disorganized person. It requires developing discipline – mental discipline.

Start by asking yourself the question, why am I doing this? Don’t underrate this question. The answer has many implications and if yours is to make money, rethink the question! Starting an on-line/Internet business is more than a notion, and like a brick and mortar business it requires developing your skills. This takes time.

So, if you’re in dire financial straits, getting part-time job will probably serve you better in the short term. So rethink the question. Why am I doing this?

Once you have a plausible answer…you set some goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Don’t know how? There’s plenty of information available on the I-Net regarding business plans, goal setting, etc.

Oh… Make sure you write down your goals. Start writing out a plan of action, the more details, the better. I know this may sound elementary, but most people don’t plan, they react to circumstances. And they end up jumping into a project unprepared and ultimately crash and burn.

Here’s something easy that you can do that will improve your efficiency and ultimately your effectiveness.

Develop a system to keep track of your passwords and user-ids. if you’re using mailing lists, have various email accounts, affiliate memberships etc, they’re accessed through passwords. Have you ever forgotten the password to a site you need to access and have to go through the process of changing the password? it’s time consuming and counter productive.

I use a system called Roboform. Roboform memorizes and encrypts all your passwords, fills in long forms and can back up your passwords and make copies if you use multiple computers.

When I first stared I used 3×5 cards. Sounds archaic, but listen, it worked. As I could I’ve upgraded my technology to organize my time more efficiently. Ultimately, I accomplish more.

Are Your Online Efforts Getting The Best of You???

Why do you want to build an online business? The obvious answer is I want to make money. Unfortunately this apparent response is usually not be enough to sustain you in your online marketing efforts. You have to identify a deeper, more personal reason.

What do you want to do with the money? Vacation, buy a new car, build a bigger house, supplement your current income, retire early and spend 6 months of the year in a warm tropical climate. Whatever your aspiration, you must crystallize it in your mind, as it will become the driving force behind whatever you do. Simply “making money” will never be enough. There are many ways to make money, some do not require the discipline and time commitment of running your own business.

Besides, you can’t make money! Only the US Mint (if you’re a US citizen) can do that. What you can do is earn money, by providing goods or services in the marketplace that have value to the end user – the buyer.

Once you discover the why, you can move onto the how! This involves determining what kind of online business you want to build. Do you want to market a physical product(such as a product on e-Bay) or an digital (information) product? You can earn money doing either. You have to decide!

I prefer digital products because they have certain advantages. The primary advantage being, NO INVENTORY!

Maybe like me, you’ve tried some of the well known MLM’s in the past, AMWAY, SHAKLEE, MELALEUCA where you had to buy product and then resell it. You know well enough, you had to keep track of orders, inventory, sales etc. No thanks! May that’s something you like, but it’s not for me…

So before you move forward…grab a notepad & pen, a cup of your favorite beverage and find a quiet place where you can think seriously about your business aspirations.

Ask yourself, why do I want to become an online marketer? To make money for sure, but what is it that I want to do with the money? Be specific. Then ask yourself, what can you provide to the market that people will see of value and buy from you.

Knowing the answers to these questions, will prevent a lot of frustration and heartache in the future.
